How do the extra fees work?

Extra fees are bonuses that are offered during certain sessions in certain areas as needed, and they are on top of your order fees. Sessions with an extra fee are marked on the Deliveroo Rider App with a lightning bolt icon.
Extra fees in a certain zone will be offered on orders coming from restaurants in that zone (so they do not depend on the zone where you booked the session).

Here is an example in the case of a group of zones: if you have a session booked in MIPI and for that session there is an extra fee in MICAR, receiving an order from MICAR you will have access to the additional bonus. On the other hand, if you have a session booked in MICAR and you receive an order from MIPI, you will not be entitled to the extra fee.

Some extra fees can be set for the whole session, others just for a portion of it (e.g. from 7.30 to 8.00). Always refer to the push notification you receive to know the exact duration of the extra fees in your area.

Like your fees, the extra fees will be calculated based on the distance and effort required for each order. So instead of always offering you a fixed amount for each new fee boost, we’ll offer you multiplier fee boosts. Your multiplier boost will be higher when your order fees are. So if a multiplier fee boost of 1.2x is available and you accept an order with a fee of €6 you’ll earn an extra €1.20, because 1.20 x 6€ = 7,20€. You might still be offered fixed fee boosts if you choose to ride in a different area, or at a certain time.
